Not a major deal, but I'm still looking into that one. This package contains the files needed for installing the Controller driver. The only button that doesn't seem to work is the Home Button. This may not stick, so you might have to do it more than once, but once it sticks, it works and the controller behaves as an X-Input should. 2) Press the "Browse Configurations" Button (X) and find a profile that says "Disabled" and Import it. You have two options here: 1) Manually unbind every single button, including the sticks. This will open a Layout/Configuration Screen.

You must go to Steam Big Picture > Settings > Controller Category - Base Configurations > Desktop Configuration. It causes the controller to behave like a mouse (a function these controllers can already do on their own click both stick for a few seconds and again to disable) as well as binding each button to a different keyboard key. Steam Big Picture has a controller configurator that allows for a "Desktop Mode" for the controller. This must be done by plugging a USB into the port inside the battery compartment on the controller and updating through Steel Series Engine. Windows updates caused the firmware on the controller to need to be updated. This controller plagued me for a bit, but it's more the fault of Steam and Windows than it is the controller's.

SOLUTION for Windows (Not sure about Steam Link):

unfortunately that has not been the case so far. Unfortunately this controller does not seem very popular, but I got it in the hope I could use it with my Gear VR, PC, and Link and get rid of other extraneous controllers. Since the Stratus XL is based on the Xbox 360 button scheme, why can't it be read as one? Can we expect a possible fix in the future? I know others have requested this, but a button mapping feature built into the Link would be very helpful.įor the meantime I am connecting the Stratus to my host PC instead, leaving a wired controller plugged into the Link so it doesn't kick me to the no controller connected screen. This is not so much of a problem in games where one can remap the buttons, but in those which do not have button remapping (for example, The Wolf Among Us) there is nothing to be done. The controller will connect wirelessly and the link recognizes it, but the buttons are mapped wrong (for example, X is read as Y, and right bumper counts as Start). I have been trying to get my Steelseries Stratus XL to work correctly with the Steam Link for some time, but have had only minimal success.
